Race Director John Hopkins won the 2000 AMA 750cc Supersport Championship and the 2001 AMA Formula Xtreme Championship before leaping to the FIM MotoGP World Championship on a Yamaha YZR500. He went on to race factory Suzuki and Kawasaki four-strokes, earning three podiums and finishing fourth overall in 2007. He was second overall in the 2011 British Superbike Championship. Hopkins joined the American Racing Team in 2020 as a rider coach, with an immediate and positive impact.
